The Passion Purpose and Presence of Memento Mori

THE PASSION PURPOSE AND PRESENCE OF MEMENTO MORI

Road trips from Miami Beach to our house in North Carolina with my parents each summer until I was 13 are forever ingrained in my memory. The bond I had with my mother as an only child was solidified on these journeys. We endlessly listened to 8 track tapes of Barry Manilow, Helen Reddy and Kenny Rogers.  I was lucky enough to have two parents who were teachers with whom I shared every school break.

One of the most valuable lessons I learned from my mom, and then ultimately from the loss of her presence in my life, is that a life well lived is a life of PASSION, PURPOSE, AND PRESENCE. My mom had all three in spades…anyone who knew her would tell you that! I aspire to live my life as she did hers. Memento Mori has come to shape my life for the better, perhaps it will help shape yours as well.
